This is a big success for me. I managed to run HALF MARATHON today! This was my first time so I didn’t want to push too much. A experienced a small crisis. It happened around the 15th km. And later I had a constant, increasing pain in my left foot, so I slowed down a bit. But I finished it! My time: 2 h:20 min: 04 s.

I was running and my son was riding a bike – he was a big support for me. He gave me some isotonic drinks, and took photos, too.

This is the second time I played “Frozen Lake” live. This time with the young trumpet player Michał Kluba.

Wszystko zaczęło się gdy wraz z  przyjaciółmi, z Fundacji Sztuka i Technologia napisaliśmy wniosek do Ministerstwa Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego jesienią 2011 roku.

Do you remember my post about an awesome project of Le Berger called 3m33s ?

The project is now finished and you can download and support Le Berger’s label for only $3.33.

BUT there is one more thing I want to tell you about!

Now you can get a more personalized version of the compilation of “3m33s” (compilation of drones) with your favourite tracks mixed together by a member of the collective (which will soon be revealed). This is still something we’re doing as part of the fundraising effort, digital mixes will retail at 6.66$ and physical copies (mini CDrs 3”) will be 9.99$ including shipping. Since that will require quite a bit of hands on work and every mix is personalized, mixed and mastered individually, etc. we are limiting this run at 33 copies digital, 33 copies physical. BE QUICK and GET YOUR COPY ASAP HERE!

I started working on new material called “Frozen Lake” inspired by the lake which is near the place I live. I presented it for the first time during WEF.LIVE.LAB on 23.02.2013 in Zachęta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw.

Here are some excerpts:

I decided to run a bit more today. About 12 km. Part of my route was on a frozen lake. I met some guys catching fish on ice. Nice…

On Ice 1

On Ice – nice meeting with anglers

On Ice 2

On Ice – Frozen Lake

I contributed to an “ongoing and organically evolving compilation of drones all the same length.”

A great Canadian artist who I really like, Le Berger, started this compilation. All artists can contribute to it and it is an open project. As Le Berger says: “All benefits from digital sales will be used to set up shop and print limited runs of upcoming releases, help a brother out!“. I really like supporting such ideas!

My track is a processed Tibetan singing bowl I brought from China in 2011 – an nothing more.

After quite a long time I’m finally back (though don’t know for how long). I really wanted to take part in the project # 0055 but couldn’t find enough free time last week.

About the process. First I wanted to use the contact microphone, but I really wasn’t happy with the recording so I simply recorded it via the integral Zoom H4 microphones. I like using Ableton Sampler in such cases when there is almost no “musical” or “harmonical” element in the basic material. I put the clock recording into Sampler and used just a small piece, with the loop playing back and forth. I also added a nice Toraverb by D16 (actually my friends :-).  This was the basic soundscape which I later transformed in the Gleetchlab 3.0.

Finally I used the Gleetchlab transformed tracks + the original clock recording and created a final track in Ableton Live. I used some EQ to get the final effect.

My album “Live in May” was actually the first one I signed with my own name and surname. It was published as a FREE release by MindTwistingRecords and than many people downloaded the release. It was 2 years ago.

Some of my friends told me that now, after those 2 years, they would like to get the album in a physical form. Therefore I started thinking of making a limited run of CDrs in a nice hand-painted recycled cardboard package! Apart from a CD with the bonus track, the package will include the original hand-numbered square cover photo + some extras.

You can support the idea and BUY the digital album. If you buy it now, you will get a nice discount for the limited physical package.

4 PLN (or more) = about $1.50 (or more) = about 1 EUR (or more)

THANK YOU!
