A great installation of Brian Eno in Wrocław. Just an excerpt:
Many people say, that the second day was better because Aphex Twin did better than Greenwood. Maybe yes, maybe not. In my opinion not. I am a fan of noise, and sometimes I create noise tracks. But still, I think that during such a big event people should be warned about the sound level. It was far too loud! After the first composition of Penderecki Aphex started deconstructing it. The composition itself was quite OK, but the sound level was enormous. People closed their ears, some of them started leaving the venue. After the second composition of Penderecki me and most of the friends did the same. We simply left. In the lobby I saw a mother with a small child which was crying out of pain! Where was the organiser? Where were the warinings? Who let a small child enter the venue? Adult people couldn’t stand the sound level, so what a small baby (an infant in fact), could feel? AWFUL! And what do you think?
An excerpt of Penderecki:
An excerpt of Aphex Twin:
I had a chance to see the first big event of the European Culture Congress in Wrocław, i.e. Concert of Krzysztof Penderecki and Jonny Greenwood. Nobody exactly knew how the concert would be performed. It was like a battle. First the composition of Penderecki and next Greenwood’s answer. I must say, that compositions of the master were amazing and the sound as well as the performance of the orchestra and Penderecki himself were simply stunning. Although the same orchestra played compositions of Greenwood, there was lack of tension and “air”. (how to explain that!)
If anybody saw the performance, please share your feelings and observations.
I didn’t know Tim Exile. But one day I saw an advertisement of THE MOUTH (a Native Instruments Reactor instrument), made by Tim Exile. Until now it’s been one of my favourite songs / adverts! Two days ago I saw him for the firs time on stage during the European Culture Congress. I must say that HE IS AMAZING. We had a lot of fun! Unfortunately there were not many people during the concert – but maybe this was good, because we could see him playing his amazing live-act from a short distance. GREAT SHOW. THANK YOU TIM EXILE!
