Hello, I haven’t written for a very long time. Probably there are not many people interested in the things I do here on wordpress, still, the blog exists, so I should update it with some info. Last year was quite productive. I played several concerts and started some fruitful collaborations. You will hear the results soon. The most important thing was the ChoP Festival 2016 in November, which celebrated the 10th anniversary of the ChoP Project. We had several awesome concerts in different venues in Shenzhen and Hong Kong. I had a chance to play during the Festiwal Ambientalny in Wrocław and it was amazing, cause I had a chance to meet and have a chat with Rafael Anton Irisarri and Julianna Barwick. It was a great evening.
The future looks quite interesting. I have just finished a new album and I am working on some new ideas which will be published, soon.

I am writing this message to ask you for a little support. But first of all I have to explain WHY am I doing this. In a month I am flying with a group of Polish artists to China, to perform during the ChoP Festival in several venues, in Shenzhen. As I have bad experience with the airlines which once lost my luggage I take all my musical gear into the hand luggage. As you can imagine I cannot take everything with me cause I have to minimise almost every part of my necessary equipment. I am using a guitar a lot but I cannot take all my pedals with me. So I found a great solution.

Rok 2012 był dla mnie dość dobry. W końcu ukazała się moja płyta “Remaining Sounds“, wydana w San Fransico przez Dynamophone Records. Recenzje zbiera dobre, więc mam nadzieję, że się podoba. Jest na niej sporo analogowego szumu, trzasków, gitar, klarnet i dużo ambientowej przestrzeni. Można ją teraz zdobyć taniej na moim BandCampie, a także w postaci fizycznej (w Polsce np. w sklepie serpent.pl) Pod koniec roku, tym razem na wschodnim wybrzeżu USA, w nowojorskim labelu Ohm Resistance ukazała się moja kolaboracja z Piotrem Michałowskim – płyta “As Far As It Seems“. Zajmowałem się też przez ponad pół roku projektem ChoP, który urósł do ogromnych rozmiarów. Stworzenie ChoP Festival w Shenzhen było nie lada wyzwaniem. Wszystko zaczęło się gdy wraz z przyjaciółmi, z Fundacji Sztuka i Technologia napisaliśmy wniosek do Ministerstwa Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego jesienią 2011 roku. Gdy w lutym okazało się, że wniosek przeszedł wiedzieliśmy, że czeka nas ogromna ilość pracy. Ale opłaciło się! Festiwal został świetnie wypromowany i stał się jednym z największych, jeśli nie największym, muzycznym wydarzeniem jesieni w Shenzhen. W tym miejscu – jeśli można – chciałbym szczerze podziękować Zen Lu, z którym stworzyliśmy projekt, a także Jarkowi Grzesicy, Mateuszowi Bąkale i Piotrkowi Michałowskiemu z FST, a także Przemkowi Moskalowi z Canisius College (Bufallo, USA). Wspaniałe jest też, że projekt został doceniony na tyle, że szykujemy już kolejną edycję na rok 2013.

Interview with Piotr Michałowski about our new album for Ohm Resistance – “As Far As It Seems”.

Grzegorz Bojanek & Piotr Michałowski – the project started as an occasional improvised concert project. Since their first concert in Zacheta National Gallery of Art in Warsaw during WEF.LIVE.LAB in 2010, they have performed few times in several european countries and played during the Shanghai Electronic Music Week in 2011 and ChoP Festival 2012 (Shenzhen / Hong Kong). Both artist were satisfied with the improvisation results and they decided to record their first full length album which will be released on Ohm Resistance in 2012. The album is entitled “As Far As It Seems” and it contains the mixture of traditional Chinese instruments, guitars, DIY instruments of all kind and a lot of field recordings taken in some unusual places! These all sounds create some deep organic ambient soundscapes which will remain in the mind of the listener for a long time!
